Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S is designed for the treatment of worm infections (threadworms, roundworms, hookworm, etc) and belongs to a group of drugs known as anthelmintics. Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S works by blocking Glucose; used by worm cells to grow, replicate and survive. Without Glucose, worms tend to die soon.

Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S is available in syrup as well as in tablet form and is meant to be ingested orally either with or without food. Tablets may be crushed or split in half to make it easier for ingestion by younger patients. Patients are advised to ingest Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S with plenty of water to help ease the passage of the tablet into the throat and to dilute the taste of the syrup making it easier to swallow.

Dosage is entirely dependent upon the type of worm infection, the severity of symptoms, and the patient’s age and weight. Each individual may be prescribed a different dosage.Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S is meant to be ingested for a short period of only 3 days. After which patients are asked to do another 3-day course of treatment with Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S to prevent any chances of reinfection.

Mild side effects such as stomach cramps, fatigue, and flatulence, tend to resolve on their own in a few days. Patients are requested to inform their physician before ingesting any other medicines, especially Cimetidine and Metronidazole as they have been reported to negatively interact with Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S.

Child Dosage

A tablet or two either once or twice a day is prescribed to patients aged 2 years and above. Dosage is entirely dependent upon the worm infection, the severity of symptoms, and the patient’s age and weight.

Pregnancy Use And Lactation

Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S is deemed unsafe to be prescribed to pregnant and breastfeeding women. If you are undergoing treatment with Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S and become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately, the doctor will ask you to stop using Vermox 100mg Tablet 10 'S.

Contraindications

  • Fatigue- Patients experiencing this adverse effect, are advised to take deep breaths, intake tea or coffee, get a good night’s rest, and not overburden themselves for a few days.
  • Headaches- In which case make sure you rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid the use of alcohol. Take a prescribed painkiller. Consult your doctor if the headaches last longer than a week or are severe
