Rapicort 5mg Tablet 10 'S comes from the steroid family and is commonly used to bring down excessive swelling in the human body.

Rapicort 5mg Tablet 10 'S works by inhibiting the production of chemical mediators involved in inflammation and immune reaction. It binds to and inhibits phospholipase A2, blocking the formation of arachidonic acid subsequently reducing the biosynthesis of COX and LOX, the two most important enzymes involved in inflammation by forming prostaglandins, thromboxane’s.

Rapicort 5mg Tablet 10 'S is to be ingested once daily, preferably after breakfast. Adult Dosage

A tablet a day is the most prescribed dosage for patients aged 18 years and above

Child Dosage

For patients aged 18 years and below, the syrup format of this drug is most prescribed. For ages 2-5 years;20 mg of Rapicort 5mg Tablet 10 'S is prescribed depending upon the patient’s weight, comorbidities and any adverse effects that might bother the patient. For patients ranging from ages 5 years and above, depending upon their weight;30-40mg of Rapicort 5mg Tablet 10 'S may be prescribed.

Elderly Dosage 

The dosage for patients aged 65 years and older is mostly the same as the adult dosage with some alterations for patients with underlying medical conditions especially renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) diseases.

Pregnancy Use and Lactation

Rapicort 5mg Tablet 10 'S may be prescribed to pregnant women only when necessary and under the supervision of a physician. Despite being found in breast milk, Rapicort 5mg Tablet 10 'S may be prescribed to breastfeeding mothers when necessary and under the supervision of a physician.
