Nezolid 600mg Tablet 4 'S is a synthetic antibiotic that is used to treat infections caused by aerobic Gram-positive bacteria. It is bacteriostatic against both enterococci and staphylococci, as well as bactericidal against most streptococci isolates. This medicine is prescribed to treat some types of severe bacterial infections such as pneumonia, and skin and soft tissue infections. • Infections of the skin and skin structures, both complicated and uncomplicated, such as diabetic foot infections 
• Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections.

Nezolid 600mg Tablet 4 'S contains Linezolid as an active ingredient. Linezolid is an antibiotic oxazolidinone that is effective against most aerobic Gram-positive bacteria and mycobacteria. It seems to be bacteriostatic against staphylococci and enterococci, as well as bactericidal against most streptococci isolates. 

Linezolid works as an antibacterial agent by interfering with the translation of bacterial proteins. It binds to a location on the 50S subunit of the bacterial 23S ribosomal RNA, blocking the creation of a functional 70S initiation complex, which is required for bacterial reproduction and hence prevents bacteria from dividing.

Adult dosage

1. Nosocomial pneumonia: 600mg twice daily for 10-14 consecutive days
2. Community-acquired pneumonia: 600mg twice daily for 10-14 consecutive days
3. Complicated skin and soft tissue infections:  600mg twice daily for 10-14 consecutive days

Child Dosage

Children 12 years of age and younger: 10mg/kg with or without food (every 8 hours) for 10 to 28 days.

Children 12 years of age and older: 600mg with or without food (every 12 hours) for 10 to 28 days.

Elderly dosage

There is no need to modify the dose. 

Age 65years and older - In general, dose adjustments are not necessary for the elderly. The physician, on the other hand, should assess the patient's potential for organic deterioration and determine the most appropriate dose in each case. 

Pregnancy and Lactation

Nezolid 600mg Tablet 4 'S should only be used during pregnancy if it is required, that is if the speculative danger outweighs the potential benefit.

• Peripheral and optic neuropathy have been recorded, particularly in patients who have had long-term therapy (more than 28 days). 
• Avoid taking alcoholic beverages.
