Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S

Prescription Required

FORMULAAcetylcysteine 200 mg

Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S is a prescription drug and a naturally occurring amino acid. This medication belongs to a group of medications called mucolytic agents. Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S is used to help remove mucus and material entrapped in it that obstructs its breathing or other functions. It acts as a mucolytic adjuvant that is used in the treatment of respiratory problems caused by thick, viscous mucus hypersecretion. It's utilized when you have a fatty cough and can't spit, especially if you have acute bronchitis.

Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S works by interacting with mucus molecules, making it less sticky and simpler to cough out. This will aid in the clearing of your airways and make breathing easier. The mucus in the bronchi is thus liquefied and coughing aids in their expulsion.

This medication is available as a powder for oral solution. The contents of Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S are dissolved in water and are taken usually 2 to 3 times daily or as recommended by your doctor. Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Dosage is largely determined by the patient's reaction to the product as well as any side effects seen during therapy. Dosage should not be raised or decreased without consulting a physician, and the product should only be used for the period prescribed.

Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S may produce side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, runny nose, chest tightness, wheezing, etc. However, if you detect any symptoms of a major allergic response, such as a rash, itching/swelling (particularly in the ear/face/tongue/throat), extreme dizziness, or problems breathing, seek medical help right once.

How Does Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S Work?

Mucolator 200mg Sachet 1 'S contains Acetylcysteine as an active ingredient. Acetylcysteine is a mucolytic agent that reduces the viscosity of secretions and is utilized in bronchial nebulizing solutions. Acetylcysteine is a sulfhydryl molecule that boosts glutathione production in the liver. Glutathione then works as an antioxidant and aids conjugation to hazardous metabolites, notably acetaminophen's harmful metabolites. Antioxidant effects have also been employed to treat oxidative stress-related diseases.

  • Feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting) or diarrhea -Avoid eating rich or spicy food. It might help to take medication after food. If you're sick, try drinking small, frequent sips of water
  • Fever- patients are asked to ingest over the counter painkillers (such as Paracetamol), partake in plenty of fluids, and rest for a couple of days till the symptoms pass
  • Mouth sores- Minor mouth sores usually disappear in 10 to 14 days. Try to avoid spicy, salty, citrus-based, and high-sugar foods. Instead, eat ice, ice pops, sherbet, or other cool foods, and use a pain reliever like acetaminophen (Tylenol). Squeezing or picking at sores or blisters is not a good idea. Inquire with your pharmacist about any alternative over-the-counter drugs, pastes, or mouthwash that could be beneficial.
  • Runny nose: The best therapy for a runny nose is typically rest, drink plenty of water, and other drinks. To ease symptoms, use a saline nasal spray. Decongestant nasal sprays should only be used for a few days at a time, as directed on the container. Congestion exacerbated by dry winter air can be relieved by placing a cool-mist humidifier near your bedside.
  • Increased coughing: Drink plenty of water. Liquid aids in the thinning of mucus in the throat. Soothe your throat with warm liquids like broth, tea, or juice. Cough pills or hard candies are good choices. They may help to relieve a dry cough and soothe a sore throat. Honey is also a good option. A teaspoon of honey may aid with cough relief. Honey should not be given to children under the age of one year because it may contain bacteria that are dangerous to infants. Fill the air with moisture. Take a steamy shower or use a cool-mist humidifier.
