Lipitor 10mg Tablet 10 'S is prescribed to patients who have a higher level of cholesterol in their body than normal.Cholesterol in excess amounts can leads to the narrowing of blood vessels as it tends to stick to the walls of the vessel.This behavior in turn increases the likelihood of the patient suffering through a heart attack,stroke and high blood pressure along with various other ailments.

Lipitor 10mg Tablet 10 'S belongs to a group of chemicals known as statins (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors).This family of chemicals,work by reducing the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver thereby,preventing excess cholesterol to narrow/block blood vessels by accumulating at the walls of these vessels.

A tablet per day is prescribed to the patient,the dosage may be altered later on in the treatment depending upon the patient’s response to the drug and any adverse effects experienced by the patient.Lipitor 10mg Tablet 10 'S is not safe to be given to children under the age of 10 nor to pregnant and lactating mothers.If the patient conceives while undergoing treatment with Lipitor 10mg Tablet 10 'S,it is advised that she immediately consults a doctor.
