Fucidin Topical 2% Ointment 15 gm contains is chemically composed of Fusidic acid which acts by inhibiting protein synthesis and consequently ribosomal disaggregation in susceptible bacteria. Fusidic acid due to its antibacterial activity is also used in combination with steroids to treat infected inflammatory skin conditions as well.

Fucidin Topical 2% Ointment 15 gm is available in the form of cream and ointment in a tube, meant for external use only. Fucidin Topical 2% Ointment 15 gm can be applied in a thin coat over the affected area on the skin with clean hands,  three to four times daily. Fucidin Topical 2% Ointment 15 gm is safe for use in adults and children above 2 years of age. In children, careful application and monitoring are advised to avoid accidental ingestion.

Usage

• Wash and gently pat dry your skin before applying the Fucidin Topical 2% Ointment 15 gm.

Dosage 

Fucidin Topical 2% Ointment 15 gm is not used for very long periods. Treatment is commonly prescribed for 1-2 weeks or more depending on the response and severity of your infection, prescribed for use three or four times a day. If there’s no improvement in your symptoms after 1 week, consult your doctor who may consider changing the medicine for you. Only a small amount on the tip of the index finger is taken out, just sufficient to cover the infected area, do not use more than advised.
