About

About

Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S belongs to a group of drugs known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and mainly works by blocking the natural chemical groups that cause inflammation in the human body. Beta- cyclodextrin is an addition to the pre-established NSAID drug piroxicam which on its own is effective for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis but with the addition of the macromolecule Beta-cyclodextrin, it is absorbed faster and causes fewer gastrointestinal symptoms. The faster onset of this variant drug is much more helpful in immediate acute pain relief.

A tablet a day, to be taken orally (by mouth) is the commonly prescribed dosage. Dosage essentially depends on the patient’s response to Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S and any adverse effects felt by the patient while undergoing treatment. Dosage is not to be increased or decreased without the consent of a physician and Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S is to be taken for the recommended time only.

Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S is to be taken with water and the patient is advised to not lie down for at least 10 minutes to prevent stomach disturbances. Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S has been known to cause gastrointestinal ulcers and therefore, it is recommended to ingest Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S with food, milk, or an antacid to prevent indigestion and other discomforts. Intake of alcohol, smoking of tobacco, and other substances is not advisable as they can cause dizziness and increase the risk of stomach bleeding as well as ulcers.

It is best to use Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S at the first sign of pain as painkillers can take time to start working. Peak plasma concentration takes 30-60 minutes. Patients with pre-existing ulceration and hypertension must be cautious and inform their doctor before the treatment begins.

Indications

Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S can be used to treat:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis

  • Osteoarthritis

How Does Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S Work

Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S works by blocking the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are a hormone that is naturally produced in the body that helps carry out inflammatory responses in the body when needed. By preventing prostaglandins from carrying out their inflammatory functions, Brexin 20mg Tablet 10 'S can aid in the reduction of inflammation and swelling experienced by a patient. The addition of beta-cyclodextrin helps in increasing the rate of absorption and causes an earlier onset of action.
