FAQs

Anplag 90mg Tablet 10 'S belongs to a class of drugs called “antiplatelet agents”, commonly referred to as blood thinners used for the prevention of heart attacks and strokes. It helps decrease the chances of having another heart attack or stroke in patients who have a history of chronic heart disease or heart surgery by easing out the blood flow and circulation through blood vessels. Conditions benefiting from Anplag 90mg Tablet 10 'S include venous thrombocytosis, rheumatic disease, post-coronary artery bypass grafting surgery, stents, or used in combination with other agents such as aspirin for mechanical heart valves and high-risk patients.

Anplag 90mg Tablet 10 'S is chemically composed of Ticagrelor, which works by acting on a particular receptor on platelets involved in clotting and blocking its effects thereby preventing platelets from sticking together into a clot form. This lowers the chance of heart attack or stroke. According to the clinical measures, Anplag 90mg Tablet 10 'S may be prescribed in combination therapy with aspirin or another anticoagulant.

How does Anplag 90mg Tablet 10 'S work?

Anplag 90mg Tablet 10 'S acts on the “P2Y12” receptor located on platelets and works by antagonizing its effects, decreasing the formation of blood clots by preventing platelets from sticking together into a clot form known as the “aggregation” phenomenon. Thereby, lowering the chances of heart attack or stroke.

It can be used for the prevention of atherothrombotic episodes in patients suffering from:

  • Myocardial infarction - heart attack (history of a previous attack),
  • Acute ischemic - a blood clot that blocks the vessel in the brain
  • Established peripheral artery disease (narrowed arteries reducing blood flow to arms/legs)
  • Primary prevention of coronary artery disease
  • Device closure of an atrial septal defect (ASD) for at least six months
  • Combination therapy with aspirin or warfarin for mechanical heart valves
  • Unstable angina
  • After percutaneous intervention with stents
  • Rheumatic heart disease
